What is Nanotechnology?
Nanotechnology is science, engineering, and technology conducted at the nanoscale, which is about 1 to 100 nanometers. For example, a sheet of paper is about 100,000 nanometers thick. Although, modern nanotechnology is quite new, nanoscale materials were used for centuries. Unknown to its users at the time these applications included alternate-sized gold and silver particles which led to changes in the composition of the materials which created colours in the stained glass windows of medieval churches.
